feather touch brow - wow!

My experience with feather touch (micro-bladed) eyebrows...
Two years ago the trends for eyebrows were changing…. thicker bolder brows were becoming the way to go. After treating our natural eyebrows with utter disrespect in the 90’s and plucking them into very thin lines (aka Kate Moss brows), a lot of people my age have not much brow left on their face. Luckily my eyebrows had slightly recovered from the attack in the 90’s but I always had to pencil them in and more so on my right side to make them look even and somewhat presentable.

Being a new mum and then a mum of two, my time to create this look each day was diminished or pretty much non-existent.
Bring on the advertising tool that is Instagram and the images of lush brows floating by on a daily basis and I had had enough….. once I saw the image of the Skin Fairy’s (from Chelsea Skin Clinic) eyebrows on Instagram I knew I wanted micro-bladed eyebrows and I needed to get them asap.

I found out where she had them done, Beauty Ink in Padbury and I followed them religiously to see before and afters and I could see they were amazing at what they do. A week or two later Beauty Ink posted a competition to win a set of feather touch brows. I entered straight away and thought  “I never win anything but this would be cool!!!” A few weeks went by and they drew the winner and it was……ME!! So excited…. I rang the store straight away to book in but was told I couldn’t have them done while breastfeeding my child due to the anaesthetic so I would need to phone back when I was done feeding and they would book me in….
Now I am a big breastfeeding fan and I wasn’t going to give up till my child weaned herself (my first weaned at 16 months) so my poor eyebrows had to wait quite a few months till my second baby reached around 16 months and weaned herself. HOOORAY!

I rang and booked straight away, allowing 2 hours for the appointment.
I was told I didn’t need to do anything before the tattoo just to arrive on time and they would go through the permission forms and any possible side effects.
I was then escorted into a comfy room where I lay on the beauty chair and chatted to the therapist. I was advised before the tattoo to make a touch up appointment within 6 weeks to fine tune the tattoo after the healing as different people heal differently.

My therapist was Sherrilee and she has had many years of experience in facial tattooing. Sherrilee applied a numbing cream to the areas and gave it time to work its magic. While we were waiting for the cream she ruled up my eyebrows with many measurements made on my face and then she drew them on in marker so she could see where to apply the microblade strokes. Sherrilee then used a small drill like device over the brow area to remove dead skin cells and ensure the tattoo is applied on the freshest layer of skin.
Once checking I was happy with the look and shape she started applying the strokes.

Using a blade and tattoo ink she feather touch tattooed individual hair strokes into my eyebrows. It didn’t hurt at all but you can feel the movement of the blade and hear the skin being cut so some people might be squeamish for that part. It took about an hour and then Sherrilee showed me how they looked and asked if I wanted any more added but I was happy with the shape.
They looked swollen but so good and I loved them instantly.
I took selfies and was so happy with my beautiful new brows.

Before, first feather touch, healed 5 weeks later and after touch up session
I was then advised that I was not able to wet my eyebrows for a few weeks so I showered with a headband over the brows and got my hair washed and blow-dried at the hairdresser for that amount of time. I also had to apply a special healing cream to the tattoo a couple of times a day. My eyebrows were a little tender and swollen as healing continued but overall they looked so great. As they healed the colour shrunk in slightly and lightened so I definitely needed to keep my touch up appointment.
My touch up appointment was a slightly quicker process as the brows just needed a few gaps filled and to be darkened up a bit too. Again I was numbed and feather touch strokes were applied.

Once again I had to wait for healing before wetting the brows again so more blow dries and headband showers.
But the result is so great it is all worth it and I am due back within every two years to have them touched up or redone.
Since having the feather touch tattoo brows I dont have to fill my brows in at all anymore and now I feel that I can wear less make up when I like as my new brows frame my face so nicely on their own.

I absolutely recommend having your eyebrows feather touch tattooed but please make sure you choose a reputable place to have them done as I have seen some shocking results by some places where girls have only trained for a few hours to then say they can apply these tattoos.
When making this decision please do your research and look at before and after pictures and reviews. I thoroughly recommend Beauty Ink in Padbury if you wish to check out their skills then please head to www.beautyink.com.au or follow them on Instagram @beautyink_perth

Tell me about your favourite beauty treatment you have had done and why you would definitely do it again if you had the chance......
